You might be wondering-how do you declare whether a car is good or not? How to declare a winner in a particular segment? Well, there is more to this than meets the eye.

So, what should you look for? First, you must know what segment you are talking about. Is it a small hatchback? A premium hatchback? A compact (sub 4-meter), mid-size, or a full-size SUV? Do you want front-wheel-drive or rear-wheel drive? All-wheel-drive or actual four-by-four off-roadability? An SUV with a monocoque chassis, that drives smoothly like a car? Or a body-on-frame chassis SUV that’s more rugged and truck-like? That can be confusing. First, you narrow down that one and clear that confusion. Then, you review each car in that segment closely. Take a proper test drive. Look at each car closely. What is their on-road price? Are they giving you good features and good value? Specially, for the segment? Does it drive the way you want it to? Does it meet your requirements? Once you have chosen the car, the car that does it all for you, you have to ask the emotional question. Does the car make you feel complete? Does the car make your heart sing? This is important, because buying a car is an emotional decision. You must listen to your heart at the end, after doing all the logical things. Doesn’t matter if it has one or two features less, price is a bit more, or it doesn’t have the most options. If it is the one you want, then buy it.
